”Dignity is the Future of Fashion”
This month 30 Bachelor students participated in a tailor made seminar hosted by Clean Clothes Campaign. UK based Liz Tailor, activist, educator and specialist in sustainable fashion introduced to the impact of global fashion on production and workers, followed by a very moving meeting with a homeworker from Indonesia, who explained her working conditions to the students. Her personal account of her daily life, fights, fears and the extremely low wages making handmade shoes made a huge impact on the students. The seminar is a specific part of the semester project “Body, Fashion and Ethics” focusing on each student’s personal ethics, principles and position as a fashion designer for the future.
