Mats Beckman was awarded KADK’s UN Sustainable Development Award for his graduation project entitled “Eureka! Eureka!” in which he couples traditional craft such as Japanese woodblock printing with the newest technology in 3D printing bioplastic filament.

Mats is a pioneer in realizing STEAM within a fashion context in using alternative materials such as food waste to create unique products that are both zero waste in production and biodegradable when discarded.

The techniques developed in the project are an innovative contribution to rethinking the general production system in the fashion industry.

We are so proud of you, Mats.
