The Art of Communication by Elise Lorentsen (Art historian, PhD, KADK)

The lecture will explore how language can be perceived both as a mean of communication and as an inventive expression developed on its own terms as a spatial system of representation. It will also try and approach how texts and for instance drawings can point out each other's different but related layers of expression. In this inquiry we will examine texts written by Søren Kierkegaard and we will approach and explore texts as well as drawings and paintings created by modernist architects such as Louis Kahn and Le Corbusier.
