Second lecture by Andreas Ruby (DE) (Swiss Architecture Museum).

Andreas Ruby: L’ARCHITECTURE SUISSE N’EXISTE PAS / SWISS ARCHITECTURE DOES NOT EXIST
Switzerland mirrors a European situation. The country consists of 26 cantons which all claim a high degree of autonomy. A concept of a regional identity can be identified in the architectural culture as well, which is organized in different local or regional scenes. Locally, these architectures are quite different, too. There is no such thing as a Swiss architecture (in the singular), because it is constituted by a whole range of of quite different approaches. With a starting point in the current Schweizweit exhibition at the Swiss Architecture Museum, director Andreas Ruby explores the differences, and highlights the fine distinctions that define contemporary Swiss architecture.

All CAF x KADK lectures are free and held in English. Read more about the lectures at www.cafx.dk
