KADK is proud to welcome Filipe Magalhães and Ana Luisa Soares, two of the founders behind Aterlier Fala. The Lecture is part of the International Lecture Series.

The Portuguese Fala Atelier describes themselves as a naïve architecture practice working with methodic optimism on a wide range of projects, from territories to birdhouses. Fala’s projects are a medley of formal languages, references, quotations, and themes, only regulated by an obsession for clarity; its architecture is both hedonic and post-modern, intuitive and rhetorical.

The office was established in 2013, is based in Porto and is led by Filipe Magalhães, Ana Luisa Soares and Ahmed Belkhodja.

The lecture by Filipe Magalhães and Ana Luisa Soares addresses the motivations (contextual, geographical, historical) behind Fala Ateliers’ work, in the chronological sequence: "where we come from, where we are, where we believe we might be in the future”. In addition, the lecture will address a series of built works. The lecture intends to give a general overview on the way Fala Atelier deals with perimeters, relations between spaces, placement of objects, use of color and the frontal perspectives.

The lecture is in English.
