We are pleased to host an open lecture by the architectural historian and critic Hans Ibelings. At the lecture Hans Iblings will discuss recent developments of the western cities in the neo-liberal economy through examples springing from Toronto with rise and sprawl of condominium towers, to Copenhagen and the instrumentalisation of public space.

The Open Lecture is arranged by Institute of Architecture, Urbanism and Landscape and Urbanism and the programme Societal Changes.

About Hans Ibelings

Hans Ibelings is an architectural historian, writer and critic, and the author of several books about high-profile figures of Dutch architecture. His Supermodernism. Architecture in the Age of Globalization(1998), in which he looks at international developments, has been trans- lated into English, Spanish, French and Italian. In 2011 he published "European architecture since 1890" an anthology of European architecture. He is the founder and has been the editor-in-chief of A10 until 2012, a highly acclaimed and influential magazine of new European architecture.
