A research and teaching workshop by CITA.

The course is based on lightweight structures with plywood and examines how the textile weaving and wicker principles can be used in wood construction. By comparing the digital and physical tools and crafts the aim is to explore a new tectonic framework for architecture through 1:1 studies and physical prototypes.

Woven Wood

The course examines the development of woven timber and the use of parametrically defined models. The course provides students with insight into issues of programmed models, textile principles in the parametric design tradition. The course examines how digital processes and concepts change the drawing drawing from merely representational to machine instructions.
