The newly qualified craftsperson, Eirin Bjørsland Hansen has won a major international glass competition with her graduation project, Black Sun. In competition with 250 other international entrants, she won TGK competition 2014 - 100 % Glass with a glass sculpture, which she designed as her graduation project after three years at the School of Design Bornholm.

The prize is important, because it provides international recognition and visibility, which can shape a career soon after graduation. "It is important for our graduates to be seen early on in their careers, so from the very start they retain their motivation and interest. And it takes a lot of motivation when you work on such a large and cumbersome scale as Eirin Bjørsland Hansen does," says Nina Husted Erichsen, subject teacher at the School of Design Bornholm.
