Settlement, Ecology & Tectonics/ 2015

Settlement, Ecology & Tectonics is a two-year Master course taught at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture. Based on an architectural approach, which incorporates critical analyses and experimental practice, this programme teaches students to translate political, social, cultural and technological issues into architectural solutions. The city, settlement and the tectonic logic of structures are the focal point of the studies, in which projects are shaped to form part of a greater circuit of resources, always with totality in mind.

The Monument Area in Jelling

The Monument Area in Jelling was inaugurated in 2013. Jelling has become a landscape site, and thus forms a new framework for the original UNESCO monument and the more than thousand-year-old history of this place. The burial mounds, the large runic stones and the medieval church have entered into a new totality with the palisade, the long houses and the ship setting. With this book Arkitekt Kristine Jensens Tegnestue try to summarize and give a picture of the many dimensions of the project as well as the complexity of the site.
