From 1 February, a highly experienced man with an impressive academic profile will become the new head of the School of Architecture’s Institute of Architecture and Culture. Arne Høi, MAA (Architecture) comes fresh from his position as Head of the Danish Agency for Culture.

At the Danish Agency for Culture Arne Høi was in charge of building conservation, world heritage, cultural tourism and the Danish Arts Foundation’s committee for architecture, design and arts and crafts. He was previously head of the Centre for the Preservation of Buildings in Raadvad and, as an adviser, he has tackled a number of projects involving valuation, conservation and development strategies.

Alongside these appointments, Arne Høi has been the Danish Director of Studies at the Nordic Master in Architectural Heritage (NORDMAK).

Impressive academic background and relevant management experience
The Head of Subject at the School of Architecture welcomes the new Head of Institute with enthusiasm. “I am delighted to welcome Arne Høi as the new Head of Institute,” says Peter Thule. “KADK is getting a really experienced man for the job. Arne Høi has an impressive academic profile and extensive, relevant management experience, so we can’t go wrong.”

The new Head of Institute is greatly looking forward to tackling his new tasks: “I am looking forward to help develop the architectural teaching in close collaboration with the expert teachers at the Institute and KADK,” says Arne Høi. “In both my current job at the Danish Agency for Culture and the institutions where I have worked previously, I have enjoyed close and fruitful collaboration with schools of architecture and have experienced, for example, how research projects in the schools can help develop the profession and tackle current challenges. I look forward to continuing and enhancing such collaborations between the School of Architecture and the rest of the profession.”

Arne Høi studied at the School of Architecture in Aarhus, where he has also taught and is currently an Assistant Professor.
