On Wednesday, 20 undergraduates from the Royal Danish School of Fine Arts, School of Design and Design School Kolding invited the press, the industry and a lot of surprised tourists to an open, open-air fashion show entitled BATON. These budding young designers got Copenhagen Fashion Week off to an excellent start.

Baton - Fashion show

“Baton” was the title of this joint show, which 20 undergraduates from KADK and Kolding launched in the first days of Copenhagen Fashion Week. There was a “runway” in the real sense of the word, when the courtyard of Designmuseum Danmark was converted to a sports track, which directed the audience through a successful presentation of collections, created as undergraduate projects by the 20 clothing and fashion students.

Every seat was taken, and more than 300 people crammed into Designmuseum Danmark’s courtyard. Together the students had drawn the lines of an athletic track on the cobblestones for a big, memorable, well-attended show.
