Station – an architecture film about Malmö Station

Malmö Station is a distinctive building. However, before long it is being demolished. On this occasion, Lars Tingskov Mikkelsen (KADK’s Model Workshop) and Per Henriksen (IBD) have created the film: “Stadion – en arkitekturfilm om Malmö Stadion” (“Station – an architecture film about Malmö Station”)

The film will be on display in Mellemrummet at the KADK Library, from June until August 2016.

About the film:

The two Swedish cities Malmö and Göteborg both have their own unique station. Both buildings were built in 1958, and have both gained a reputation because of their distinctive sculptural form. They are closely related to each other. You could call them siblings, but not twins, for one is twice as big as the other is. Malmö Station, the smaller one, was firstly drawn, subsequently Göteborg station were drawn based on the new principles of form. On 2 February 2015 the municipal council of Malmö decided that the stadium is to be demolish in the near future. This is the reason for creating a film about Malmö station now. While there is still time.
