Description
New materials have always suggested new ways of building by challenging what is possible. This is particularly true today for textiles that have emerged as the new drivers of an architectural revolution. Through this seminar, we would like to pay a specific attention to the potential of shape-morphing materials by exploring the intersection between smart textiles, architecture and responsive polymer technologies. With the intention to encourage cross-disciplinary dialogue across science & design, the seminar will discuss the materials’ opportunities and challenges of shape-morphing technologies while investigating their design applications and stakes.
