Digital illustration contest: Giulio Romano Award

Guidelines

Purpose:

Volta Mantovana Town Hall, Library and Pro Loco, with Mantua Ducal Palace ‘s patronage, announce, for the year 2019, the contest Award Giulio Romano. The drawing “with a new and peculiar approach”.

The venture sets itself within the events dedicated to Giulio Romano organized for the current year and, in particular, it arises from a partnership with Mantua Ducal Palace, which hosts the “With a new and peculiar approach” exhibition, in Mantua (6th October 2019 – 6th January 2020).

The award has been created to celebrate the creative brilliance of the great artist and to underline his, so actual, language.

Competitors:

Everyone who lives in EU, Switzerland, UK and Norway and have dedicated their professional carrier to the art of drawing can take part in the competition.

Artworks:

Every artists has the possibility to join the contest showing his artworks realized through digital illustration. Every drawing has to be entirely realized trough computer, tablet, smartphone and application, where the technological intervention become obvious. The selected artworks will be printed onto bidimensional supports (150 cm maximum per side).

Only the artworks that will be sent by e-mail (concorso@comune.volta.mn.it) will be accepted.

It should be noted that:

• Every participants can display a maximum of three artworks
• Every artworks must be in high resolution at 300 DPI;
• The email must be within 10MBs and it must be in png, jpg, jpeg

Condition of registration:

For the registration it is necessary to send an email, at the email address mentioned before, that contains:

• A copy of a valid ID card (back and front)
• Name, surname, date of birth, address, a short biography and the telephone number of the author
• Artworks’ file

Everything must be sent in just one email. Separated emails won’t be accepted.

Submission:

The artworks must be sent by email within the 12th October 2019 at 12pm. Every artworks that is send after that due date won’t be accepted.

Prize:

• First Prize 3000€
• Second prize 1000€
• Third prize 500€

Jury: The jury is made up of 5 famous and skilled members of the sector. The judges are expert national artists and experts linked with Mantua’s territory. The names of the judges will be published after the deadline.

Artworks evaluation:

The jury evaluates the creative aspect and the artistic quality of the artworks.

Prize delivery:

Prize are delivered on October 26th 2019 at Palazzo Gonzaga in Volta Mantovana.

The awarded artworks and the selected ones, for a total amount of 20, can be reproduced by Volta Mantovana Town hall and Ducal Palace Museum for promoting purposes. In every copy the author’s name will be specified.

At jury discretion, there also can be no winners at all.

Terms and condition to participate:

The ones who take part in to the competition accept the terms and the rules of this guideline and respect them in every parts. Decisions taken by the jury are definitive and irrevocable.
