arki_lab is looking for interns studying Landscape Architecture, Urban Design or similar disciplines for the Spring 2020
Do you want to learn about new methods and use your skills to design inclusive urban spaces? Are you enthusiastic about designing cities with people? arki_lab is looking for new interns who can be part of our interdisciplinary team for a minimum of 30-37 hours per week, where they get a feel of what hands-on work is about. We offer a fun and creative work environment, and the opportunity to experience many aspects of working in a small, fast-paced office in the heart of Copenhagen. You will experience a dynamic structure, where you are the driver of your own projects, but with comprehensive feedback to ensure that you learn and grow throughout the internship.
You will:
- Be part of our urban design projects and developing concepts
- Get an insight into the design process from start to finish and the different stakeholders
- Gain experience with competitions, fund applications and presentations, working in close collaboration with other members of the team
- Keep our website dynamic and attractive, creating new images and graphics
- Contribute to developing our engagement methods
We expect that you:
- Are able to start mid January/beginning of February 2020 for a period of about 5-6 months. But we are flexible so don’t hesistate to send an application!
- Are a dedicated and independent person, who is passionate about co-creation, citizen engagement and sustainable urban design.
- Understand how to visualize ideas and concepts
- Have experience with Adobe Package and preferably Rhino
- Can work creatively and independently
- Have a working knowledge of English.
The internship is unpaid.
Who we are
arki_lab is an interdisciplinary urban design studio with a strong focus on democratic processes. We think good cities are diverse cities that support and nurture the communities, and this begins with inclusive design. That’s why at arki_lab, we dedicate our work to contributing to the architectural process by involving people. We develop strategies, analyses, workshops and design urban spaces with an interdisciplinary approach. Our team is comprised of urban designers, architects, and ethnologist and we are always looking to bring in new, inspiring people and perspectives. We mainly have projects in Denmark and Australia which means that you could be engaged in different projects down under.
