Furniture Design Intern for Stykka

Do you want to create custom furniture for the masses? We are looking for a designer who can take an idea to a final product. Someone who enjoys coming up with new designs while also being able to dive into the final details of a product, and preparing it for manufacture.

At Stykka, we design and create custom furniture for large scale companies.

We believe in a future without standardized furniture. Instead, every design is tailored to fit the exact space and needs of our clients.

We use cutting edge technology like 3D scanning, digital fabrication, and distributed manufacturing to create new experiences and amazing, sustainable products for an array of clients.

Would you like to?

• Intern at a place where you see your designs being produced within a couple of months?
• Be involved from everything from sketching ideas to prepare design files for CNC machines.
• Be part of a team where the design department and product team are in close contact.
• Design new furniture and change how offices looks.
• Be part of a digital revolution against mass-produced furniture.

 The tools we use:

• Rhino + Stykka manufacturing software.
• Stykka Manufacturing Back end.
• Various web apps for registration and project management.

 We would like you to:

• Have a keen eye for detail.
• Be interested in furniture.
• Digital savvy (Preferable Rhino).
• Be able to prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
• Eager to learn.

 We are looking for a person who:

• Enjoys all the stages of a design process.
• Thrives in a startup environment.
• Handles the responsibility of freedom and can structure your own day.
• Likes to work in an environment with a flat hierarchical structure.

We expect you to be enrolled in a school and eligible to receive SU while interning. The length of the internship will be adjusted to fit with the school requirements.
