We are looking for an Intern to join our small and skilled team, and develop their design skills on live, fast-paced projects. We have a very digital-heavy workflow and uses VR as a design tool to showcase design concepts for our clients. Your main task will be designing workspace environments for large scale clients along with other spatial design tasks.

At Stykka, we design and create custom furniture for large scale companies.

We believe in a future without standardized furniture. Instead every design is tailored to fit the exact space and needs of our clients.

We use cutting edge technology like 3D scanning, digital fabrication, and distributed manufacturing to create new experiences and amazing, sustainable products for an array of clients.

Would you like to?

  • Create and furnish full-scale 3D environments.
  • Creating 3D environments for VR tours.
  • Visualization through renderings and videos.
  • Creating custom furniture in CAD.
  • Bring a new way of thinking to the Stykka team.

We would like you to:

  • Use CAD software (Rhino preferred).
  • Understand the principles of setting a scene for rendering.
  • Generally be digitally savvy (our workflow is >90% digital)
  • Be passionate about the details of the furniture, as well as the space as a whole.
  • Have a good sense of scale and how to make a room work as a whole.
  • Create exciting spaces for our clients.

We are looking for a person who:

  • Thrives in a startup environment.
  • Handles the freedom of a startup environment responsibly.
  • Likes to work in an environment with a flat hierarchical structure.
  • Has an interest in design, furniture and architecture.
  • Likes to work digitally and incorporate technologies such as digital manufacturing, 3D scanning and VR into their design workflow. We don’t expect you to be an expert in this, only willing to learn.
  • Works efficiently when given multiple tasks.
  • Enjoys learning new skills.
  • Has a good eye for detail, and eye for visual composition.
  • Is reliable and good at keeping deadlines.

We expect you to be enrolled in a school and eligible to receive SU while interning. The length of the internship will be adjusted to fit with the school requirements.

Please send us a portfolio in PDF format, a motivated letter and a CV.
