All throughout history, Iran’s Art & Architecture has encountered a variety of experiences in diverse scales, from classical paintings in ancient books as well as rock reliefs originated from different generations, to contemporary mediums and modern illustrations; or from rural peasant huts, tea houses, gardens, and pavilions to some of the most majestic structures the world has ever seen.

Accordingly, along the academic growth of both art and architecture around the world, such experiences have not remained hidden and have been the subject of international professional dialogues.

Consequently, a group of students at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture are hosting a participatory talk to introduce and share some of these experiences.

The lecture starts with general informative contents about Iran answering some of the current questions of international community, and then would specifically dig into art and architecture. This part is represented in chronological order and meanwhile highlighting some of the specific design and building approaches in each period.

Subsequently the audience is brought up to the current status of academic contexts in Iran’s art and architecture schools, through introducing some of the projects, workshops and professionals.

The lecture will be given by exchange student Niloufar Gharavi and is in English.
