Design research

• CEPHAD List. Our own e-mail discussion list for announcements and debates of relevance to the purpose of CEPHAD.
• Danish Centre for Design Research (Copenhagen): A government-initiated organization formed by the two schools of design and the two schools of architecture in Danmark, so as to promote research and research-based teaching of design. Supports and cooperates with CEPHAD.
• Design Research Society: Multi-disciplinary learned society for the design research community worldwide. Supports and cooperates with CEPHAD. Publishes Design Research News, an important monthly digital newsletter (subscription free of charge, regardsless of membership). Maintains the Design Research Society discussion list (e-mail forum).
• Deutsche Gesellschaft für Designtheorie und –forschung: A German society for design theory and design research.
• International Association of Societies of Design Research (IASDR).
• PhD-Design. A very active e-mail discussion list "for discussion of PhD studies and related research in Design". The list is a well-established forum for debate on design research in general -  not only PhD studies as originally intended. Contributions range from highly theoretical debates among leading researchers to students' requests for advice on the details of thesis writing.

Philosophy

• CEPHAD List. Our own e-mail discussion list for announcements and debates of relevance to the purpose of CEPHAD.
• Dansk Filosofisk Selskab: Society founded in 1999 as a national forum for Danish philosophy in research and higher education. Activities include an annual meeting with two keynote addresses by prominent international philosohers.
• Encyclopaedias of philosophy (no subscription required):
• Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy.
• Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy.
• A Dictionary of Philosophical Terms and Names.
• EpistemeLinks: A large collection of some 19.000 links to philosphy resources on the Internet, made available free of charge. The site has two major departments: Philosohers and Topics (subdivided into historical  time periods, subject areas, schools and traditions, and pracicing philosophy). Further examples of the contents of EpistemeLinks include (but are not limited to) links to e-texts, specialized search engines, organizations and philosophy departments; and a searchable list of e-mail discussion lists organized by subject.
• Erratic Impact: A site designed to help both researchers, students and the general public get access to philosophical literature and online information on a variety of topics, including for example ‘Analytic Philosophy’, ‘Process Philosophy’ and ‘Ontology’. Erratic Impact serves as a notice board for announcements of meetings, books, and websites related to philosophy. The site provides a rich collection of links to journals, philosophers’ home pages, organizations, and much more.
• Philosophy Conferences Worldwide: A web site and alerting service offering current information of upcoming conferences on philosophy and related areas.
• Philosophy Links: Collection of philosophy links for professionals and interested laypersons, maintained by the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
• Philosophy Publishers: Episteme Links’ collection of links to over 150 publishers of philosophy books, journals and CD-Rom’s. Publishers’ sites often include online catalogues.
• PhilPapers: A comprehensive directory of online philosophical articles and books by academic philosophers. The directory is maintained by a large number of specialized editors each of whom is responsible for a list of literature on a specific topic; e.g. 'Epistemology of intuition', 'The definition of art', and even 'Design' (under 'Philosophy of specific arts'). The directory offers excellent search facilities free of charge, though full-text versions of the publications to which links are provided are not freely available in all cases.
• SPT, Society for Philosophy and Technology: An independent organization that ‘encourages, supports and facilitates philosophically significant considerations of technology’. Arranges a series of biennial conferences, and publishes Techné: Research in Philosophy and Technology, an online journal with full text available free of charge.
• The PHILOSOP List. E-mail list, aiming 'to provide an easy, informal, and fast, way for people interested in academic Philosophy to exchange anything relevant that can be exchanged via the medium of e-mail, and, taking that as given, to keep reasonably large the ratio of utility to volume.'
• The Philosopher’s Index: ‘Journals Currently Indexed’. Alphabetical listing of journals on philosophy, with e-mail addresses and links to homepages, many of which contain tables of contents.

Of general interest

• Wordnet (English): Database developed at Princeton University, which provides definitions of the meanings of all nouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs. The words are organized into ‘synonym sets’: groups of words sharing at least one of their meanings. Wordnet provides excellent and systematic overviews of word meanings and their interrelationships as embodied by ordinary language. Many of the definitions are good starting points for philosophical conceptual analysis. The system is also useful as an online dictionary and thesaurus. Comprehensive functionality is freely available.
