Of general interest
- Wordnet (English): Database developed at Princeton University, which provides definitions of the meanings of all nouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs. The words are organized into ‘synonym sets’: groups of words sharing at least one of their meanings. Wordnet provides excellent and systematic overviews of word meanings and their interrelationships as embodied by ordinary language. Many of the definitions are good starting points for philosophical conceptual analysis. The system is also useful as an online dictionary and thesaurus. Comprehensive functionality is freely available.
