Holmen Now! #8: Guarda-Rios sings for spring, March 10, 16:00
Holmen Now! is back. We celebrate the upcoming spring by presenting the vocal ensemble GUARDA-RIOS.
After years of improvising and experimenting together in other bigger vocal ensembles, Mariana Camacho, Susana Nunes and João Neves (students af The Rythmic Conservatory) give voice to this collective.
Departing from traditional Portuguese repertoire, the trio builds bridges between old folk songs and free improvisation, offering a new perspective over a repertoire otherwise going extinct through acapella improvised arrangements.
Guarda-Rios (Kingfisher) is a collective bird. A family of small to medium-sized, brightly colored birds, who watch over the memories of the waters and sings them, so that they fly.
After the great response after sharing a video online and the first concerts, Guarda-Rios already got invited for a recording artistic residency, and will be flying soon to further places such as Berlin.
Free drinks and snacks.
Bring your friends - see you there!
Holmen Now! is a recurring event open to students from all the artistic schools at Holmen. Our aim is to connect the creative students at Holmen closer together through social and professional collaborations and experiences.
