Fag og indhold

At the master program in production design we design visual concepts for moving images besides building and dressing physical and digital scenographies for live action film and other visual media  as television series, documentary film and animation. Occasionally the design is for different adjacent genres with emphasis on visual and spatial storytelling such as theatre, exhibition design and computer games. The main content of the courses at the program however is planned and carried out in close collaboration with The National Film School of Denmark.

The work of the production designer covers designing and planning visual style and scenographic space for the production of moving images. This requires experience in filmic storytelling as well as knowledge and skills related to architecture, art and style history, conceptual and technical drawing, model building and construction. It also requires the the ability and desire to work with other skilled and enthusiastic experts in the field of visual storytelling and production. You will be prepared for this through collaborate film productions, through courses in film and production design theory and through the opportunity to do independent artistic work.
