The Minister of Higher Education and Science has appointed the CEO of the Danish Design Centre (DDC), Christian Bason as a member of the board of the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts Schools of Architecture, Design and Conservation (KADK).

According to the Ministry, the appointment has been made on the basis of Christian Bason’s special knowledge and experience in the field. He takes up his position on KADK’s board on 1 February 2016 and will continue as a member of the board until 31 January 2020.

“I greatly appreciate the trust that the Minister of Higher Education and Science has shown by appointing me to the Board of KADK. Many exciting tasks lie ahead, particularly helping even more KADK graduates to gain a foothold in the labour market, including the private sector,” says Christian Bason.

In addition to his position as CEO of the Danish Design Centre, Christian Bason is the Director of Design Society, which, as well as DDC, consists of the Danish Fashion Institute (DAFI) and INDEX: Design to Improve Life.

From 2007 to 2014 he was head of the cross-government innovation unit MindLab and from 1998 to 2006 he was a Consultant and Business Manager in Rambøll Management. He has also held a number of positions of trust and other appointments: for example, as Chairman of the European Commission’s expert group on public innovation and as a member of the European Design Leadership Board.

Christian Bason is an examiner for design programmes and has taught as an external lecturer at the Oxford Saïd School of Business, the Weatherhead School of Management and the EU Commission’s chief executive training programmes. He is the author of five books on design, innovation and management and holds an MSc in Political Sciences from Aarhus University and is a PhD fellow at CBS.
